As a leading country when it comes to number of bariatric surgery procedures performed, the Brazilian Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery (SBCBM) is commited to scientific research and exchange of information. Thus, it is our pleasure to announce the launch of the Brazilian Bariatric Surgery Registry.

The aim of this database is to gather data regarding bariatric and metabolic procedures currently in practice in Brazil, also registering and analysing outcomes. It is our goal to improve the surgical information available, supporting surgeons to continually evaluate and improve the quality of patient care. We believe this project is an importante step towards publication of high quality scientific data. For this, we would like to thank and encourage all participating centers for your valuable contributions.
