As obesity and obesity related illness rates continue to rise in all world and specifically in Kuwait , the Ministry of Health decided to establish a comprehensive database to record the bariatric surgeries, examine patient outcomes, and current practices. With a cooperation with Bader Sultan & Brothers Company, The Kuwait Bariatric Surgery Registry has been implemented with partnering with Dendrite company the market leader in this domain.

The Bariatric Surgery Database is one of Dendrite's products. It can facilitate clinical workflow, analysis and research at a national level, as well as locally in hospital departments.

The purpose of the Bariatric Surgery Registry is to collect information on bariatric treatment in Kuwait to better understand different treatment effects and results. Information collected help to identify and inform decision makers of practices that need improvement. The Registry information will also be used to answer research questions that help to understand the effects of obesity and the impact of treatment.
